1411057 Steam turbines J F KOSYAK S P SOBOLEV A F RUDKOVSKY V V UGOLNIKOV Y L IGLINSKY N A BABADZHANIAN S I GERMAN I F OCHKOVSKY and T M ZILBER 6 April 1973 16508/73 Heading FIT In a diaphragm structure for the low pressure stage of a steam turbine, the hollow blades 1 are each provided with a groove 5 on a flat surface 8 adjacent the leading edge of the blade and on its convex surface and with slots 6 in the groove and communicating with the interior of the blade and a condenser via inner and outer channels 14 and 13 at opposite ends of the blade, whereby moisture impinging on the blade is drawn off through the slots. The slots may be inclined at 30 degrees to the leading edge.
