Abstract
1,107,120. Turbine blade shrouding. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Jan. 3, 1967 [Jan. 17, 1966], No.227/67. Heading F1T. Steam turbine rotor blades 2 are inter-connected at their tips by a shrouding member 7 extending from the trailing edge region of one blade to the leading edge region of the adjacent blade. Each member 7 is locked to its respective blades by projections 8 passing through holes 5, 6 in the blade tips and being upset. All the blades are so inter-connected. The side surfaces 10, 11 at the blade tips are substantially planar and parallel. The radially outer surfaces 9 of the members 7 and the blade tip surfaces (12) Fig. 3 (not shown) are shaped to form a cylindrical surface. The blades are also inter-connected by lacing wires (4) Fig. 1 (not shown) radially inwards of the members 7.
