Abstract

224,794. Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon, (Assignees cf Laternser, A.). Dec. 14, 1923, [Convention date]. Controllers, actuating; master control systems.-For electric traction motors, a rheostatic starting controller operated in steps by a pilot motor is arranged so as to progress automaticallv, non-automatically or semiautomatically as required. The arrangement consists essentially of a master control switch FS, a group SW of self-controlling segments and contact fingers upon the main controller (the power contacts of which are not shown in the diagram), and a notching relay SR having three windings. According to the setting of the master controller FS and of a switch S, the notching relay is subject only to overload m a main current coil MC, or only to successive impulses of control current in a coil K<1>, or to the overload and control current impulses jointly. The object of the third coil K<2> is to neutralize the main current coil WC when purely non-automatic action is required. The notching relay checks the progression by de-energizing a magnet KR which makes a braking. short-circuit for the pilot motor A and at the same time applies a mechanical detent to a notched disc AS. The pilot motor is arranged to reverse either when the master controller is set back, or when safety relays come into action.
