Series parallel systems; electric braking.-In multiple-unit series-parallel control systems for the motors of electric trains, the operation of shifting the master controller A from the last series notch 5 to the first parallel notch 6, when the reversing switch B occupies the reverse position, brings about the tripping of the line circuitbreaker by means of a controller segment 10 making a connection for control current to reach the tripping coil 15. The effect is to set up electric braking without requiring separate operation of the circuit-breaker. The invention is applicable to controllers of the kind in which there is no separate reversing switch.
