Cutting slices in succession. - In a disc knife, reciprocating table slicing- machine the table is reciprocated by hand and the meat table is fed automatically by spring means which urge the meat against a fixed adjustable abutment plate. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a feed mechanism, having no abutment plate, in which a lever M pivoted at a to the under table E carries a pawl O which engages a rack Q on the meat table H. A roller P engages the inclined face of a stationary graduated member S which is adjustable about, and frictionally held on, its pivot R. The inclination of the member S determines the slice-thickness and the lever M is returned by a spring N. In a modification, a feed screw is operated by a toothed wheel moved by the reciprocating under table. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
