Cutting slices in succession; holders. -A clamp for use in meat-slicing and like machines comprises a lever 1, slidable on a bar 3 secured to the back of the meat-table, a grip-plate 5, on the lever 1, having grooves or projections facing a similar gripping- surface on a member 10, which is slida.bly mounted on the lever 1 and is held in position by a pawl 12 and ratchet teeth 8. A roller 14, or ball, facilitates the movement of the member 10 over the meat-table. The lever 1 is slotted at 7, and the pawl 12 is mounted on a block 9 and is released by a spring-pressed lever 15 attached to the pawl. The meat-table is reciprocated by a handle 16 which also serves to slide the clamp along the bar 3, thereby feeding the meat to the knife.
