Abstract

471,222. Trimming paper &c. MODERN PRODUCTS (L.C.L.), Ltd., and LAKE, P. June 20, 1936, No. 17234. [Class 31 (i)] A device for trimming paper &c. comprises a rotary disc knife 14 mounted on a carriage 11 which is slidable on a guide 13 and co-operating with a fixed knife 18 against which it is pressed by a spring 21. A pinion 16 on the knife shaft 15 co-operates directly or through other gears with a rack 17, so that traverse of the device by a handle 12 rotates the knife. The paper &c. is clamped in position by depressing the guide 13 or another bar against springs 23 by cams 24 coupled together by a rod 26 and operated by a handle 27. A guard 20 for the knife is provided on the carriage 11. According to the Provisional Specification, the knife may be driven and traversed by an electric motor on the carriage.
