Reservoir pens; pencil holers.-In a combined reservoir pen and pencil holder, a pen-section 9, Fig. 2. and a pencil-section 5 are detachably mounted in opposite ends of a barrel 4 which encloses the collapsable sac 11 of the self-filling mechanism of the pen and the pencil-section is provided with leadpropelling mechanism spaced from the interior wall of the section to form an annular chamber within which is arranged a reserve-lead carrier. The sac is adapted to be collapsed by operation of a lever 13 pivoted in a slot in the barrel and acting on a presser-bar 15, return movement of the presser-bar being obtained by means of a spring 16. The lead-propelling mechanism comprises a tubular member 22, Fig. 3, formed with a spiral slot and attached to a milled head 21 secured in a reduced portion 20 of the pencilsection 5, a sleeve 27a formed with a longitudinal slot and attached to a rotatable tip 27, and a follower member 25 having lugs 24 extending through the slot in the sleeve 27<a> into the slot in the member 22. A sleeve 29 loosely surrounds the member 22 and is frictionally held in the section 5, a number of longitudinal grooves 30 being provided on its outer surface to form, in conjunction with the internal wall of the section, receptacles for spare leads. The inner end of the sleeve 29 projects beyond the end of the member 22 to form a stop for an eraser 32 or other device which serves as a closure for the spare-lead receptacles, and also as an abutment to prevent longitudinal movement of the spring 16.
