Abstract
218,074. Mooney, D. J., and Emby, D. H. May 17, 1923. Addition to 141,141. Framework.-Metal spars &c. of box girder form with corrugated web and flange members, as described in the parent Specification, have their web members connected together in one or more places by longitudinally corrugated strips of the kind described in Specifications 151,352 and 154,035. The sections shown and described exhibit also the feature disclosed in Specification 194,114. Fig. 2 shows a spar having two strengthening strips d, which may be continuous or in sections, fitting into recesses c in the webs where they are riveted. Other examples are described showing variations in the shape and number of the corrugations in the webs, flanges and strips. Fig. 6 shows a deep girder in which the strengthening strips d are formed in one with portions i of the webs.
