Abstract
395,540. Railway-vehicle bodies. CHRISTOPH & UNMACK AKT.-GES., Niesky, Silesia, Germany. Sept. 17, 1932, No. 25932. Convention date, Sept. 17, 1931. [Class 103 (iv).] Floors and walls of light railway vehicles are formed of spaced metal plates c, d strutted by two series of zig-zag bracings a, b arranged at right-angles and joined to the plates by screws, rivets, or welding. The plates may be aluminium and may be corrugated, and the bracings may be aluminium tubes flattened at the crossing points. The edges may be closed by channels e with the flanges turned inwards or outwards, and the interior may be filled with an insulating material such as broken aluminium foil.
