Abstract

The prefabricated wooden frame of the demountable building is made up of a number of sections some of which are used in various parts of the structure. The wall units consist of two beams which are identical in design (1 & 2). These beams form the top and bottom bearers of the section. They are joined by columns (3). The joints are formed by webs of plywood or metal which are slotted into the columns and beams. The assembly is then bolted or screwed together. To this frame are bolted the outside panels as are the inside panels which may also be hooked into place. The roof is of a similar form of construction.
