Abstract

214,847. Boulton & Paul, Ltd., and North, J. D. May 16, 1923. Addition to 136,638. Framework.-Metal spars of the same general form as those claimed in the parent Specification have corrugations 7, 8 of small radius formed in the portions 1, 2 of the side plates, or corrugations 9, 10 also of small radius are formed at the ends of the straight portions 3, or, as shown, they may be formed in both positions. The upper and lower plates 5, 6, which are flanged at the edges to enter the bent over flanges 4 of the side-plates, are outwardly arched, and may have one more longitudinal corrugations formed in the arched portions. In the examples described, there may be a small central indentation in the arch, or there may be two or four outward bulges based on the arch.
