Compound sheet materials.-An elastic layer of cork, cork composition or rubber is enclosed between layers of textile fabric, the upper of which may be felted and bears a design to imitate a carpet. The upper fabric may be coated with nitrocellulose. The composition may consist of one part of gum kauri, four parts of resin, twenty-four parts of linseed oil, twenty-eight parts of ground cork; or it may consist of indiarubber and cork. The union of the layers is effected by pressure without the use of adhesive. Specifications 16058/90, 9769/91, 12483/97, and 22522/02 are referred to.
