Abstract

348,600. Covering surfaces with metal foil. RADË, L., 10, Bismarckstrasse, Wannsee, Berlin. Feb. 6, 1930, No. 4079. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1929. [Class 93.] Metal foil is fixed to wood, paper, cardboard, fabrics, or like material by coating the material with a layer of raw rubber, applying the foil, and vulcanizing the rubber by heat and pressure. Compound material produced by fixing metal foil to a woven fabric backing in this way may be used for lining pipes and tubes. The material may be embossed simultaneously with the vulcanization and may be used as a printing-surface on a printing cylinder ; also, a transparent or coloured cellulose foil may be applied to the material, after vulcanization, by means of an adhesive.
