[Class 140] Compound sheet material comprises artificial threads having uniformly spaced swellings made as described in French Specification 803,144 and at least one layer of fabric, for example, viscose rayon or sheets of regenerated cellulose, cellulose derivatives or rubber hydrochloride. The layers are adhered by rubber latex or artificial resin. Layers of the artificial threads may be alternated with the other layers. The threads may be bound together by cotton threads. The product may be coated or impregnated with varnish or waterproofing or fireproofing materials or may be decorated. It may be used for covering or decorating walls, floors or furniture.
