Abstract

Linear-dimension gauges.-The movable jaw c of a sliding calliper gauge is adapted to be set by a micrometer screw i, which is jammed to the beam a in any desired position. The screw i is provided at its end j to a plate g, which is loosely arranged in a recess e in the jaw c, and has a rib f engaging a longitudinal groove h in the beam. The end is formed to bind against the beam a. A recess in the side of the jaw c accommodates the screw, and the adjusting nut k upon it makes a good fit in a slot in the jaw. The nut k has a spring-pressed cap m to improve the fit. A spring-pressed plunger p urges the screw into jamming position. A depth gauge r may be arranged in the slot h. The jaw c can be adjusted by turning the nut k after the plate j has been allowed to grip the beam.
