Abstract

Supporting and mounting bearings.-The casing of a roller-and-ring crushing mill is fitted with a detachable hood and slotted so that, after removal of the usual hood, it can receive the crushing-mechanism in fully assembled condition. The crushing - mechanism comprises a crushing-ring c, Fig 3, and crushing-rollers d working against the inside of the ring, one of the rollers d being arranged centrally above the other rollers and driven by means of a pulley on its shaft e so as to impart rotation to the crushing-elements. Bearings m, n are mounted on the shaft e and on the shafts o of the lower rollers, and buffer springs h between adjacent bearings force the rollers d against the ring c. The casing a, Figs. 1 and 5, is divided on a level with the shaft e, the upper hood-part b being detachable. Semicircular notches q in the side walls of the hood and casing accommodate the shaft e, and the side walls of the casing have slots p for the shafts o. Brackets r on the bearings m rest on shoulders s on the casing, and hooked lugs t on the brackets engage with screw-bolts f. Slides l may be used for covering the slots after the introduction of the mechanism.
