Abstract

554,504. Impact pulverizers. THORNE, N. A. L., and DAGLISH, N. Dec. 31, 1941, No. 16838. [Class 59] In apparatus for breaking or granulating stone or the like comprising a rotor 11 with hammers 14 arranged within a chamber 10 the peripheral walls of which have breaker bars 18, the side walls are provided with horizontal gaps provided with cover plates 24 and the peripheral wall is provided at one side with a removable plate 26 so that when it is desired to remove the rotor from its casing the rotor shaft is freed from its bearings and, after removal of the cover plates 24, 18, is moved along the gaps to the opening in the peripheral wall. The side walls of the rotor casing have lining plates which embrace the ends of the rotor and it is also necessary to remove the lining plates at 25 before the rotor can be removed. The rotor is driven through change speed gear of the belt and expanding pulley type.
