Abstract
378,629. Impact pulverizers. WESTWOOD, J. J., WESTWOOD, W., and DAWES, E. H., of Westwood, Dawes, & Co., Enville Street, Stourbridge, Worcestershire. July 25, 1931, No. 21329. [Class 59.] In an impact pulverizer each set of hammers k is mounted in non-rotatable connection on a shaft n on the rotor, the shaft being supported rotatably in bearings o provided in the sideplates e of the rotor. The rotor comprises side-plates e mounted on a shaft g and with wear plates f form the sides of the disintegrating chamber. The hammers k are spaced apart by discs r and the hammer heads m are reversible and are secured by a rod p. The upper part of the mill casing is formed by short lengths of rails b, stepped at the ends and secured to the casing side-plates a. Tapering blocks d form a boundary for the side-plates e of the rotor and the centre of each side-plate a is removed to facilitate removal of the hammers when replacement is necessary, The material is fed in through a hopper c and is discharged through the bottom of the casing.
