Abstract

Metals slabs may be introduced at 8 into a pit 6 filled with liquid discharged at 9 by means of a plurality of wheels 4 rotating on horizontal shaft 1. The wheels 4 are formed with spokes 3 and the slab is introduced into the gap 5 between the spokes and is carried round by the push of the spokes being supported by the bottom of the pit 6 until finally at 9 it is discharged. The slabs may be impelled into the gap by means of a pusher which also operates at the same time to discharge the corresponding slab at 9. Alternatively rollers may be introduced to support the spokes 3 of the wheels 4 as they rotate within the pit and each gap 5 may be furnished with a pivoted door. <PICT:1032284/C6-C7/1>
