376,143. Clearing furnace grates. BEMBERG AKT.-GES. J. P., 35, Postfach, Oberbarmen, Wuppertal, Germany. Nov. 6, 1931, No. 30839. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1930. [Class 51 (i).] A device for clearing travelling grates comprises a rotating body provided with impact members which periodically strike against the grate members under the influence of centrifugal force. As shown in the Figure, beneath the front end of the lower run of the grate is provided a shaft 3 driven through gearing from the grate drum 2 and provided at each end with discs 4 connected by rods 5, 5<1> on which are loosely mounted rings 6, 61 adapted to strike against the grate members 1 and clear them of ash &c.
