Abstract
208,046. Harrison, Carter, Ltd., J., May C., and Barradell, L. Feb. 6, 1923. Impact pulverizers.-The casing of a disintegrator for grinding or powdering grain, coal, bricks, &c. is made in halves A, C, Fig. 1, bolted together and provided with four equal grinding-sections B which slide into the casing endwise and can be withdrawn without dismantling the casing, the interior of the grinding-chamber being free from bolts, nuts, or pins. Each half of the casing houses two sections B, and the two sections in the lower half C are fitted with cross-bars to serve as screens, the two upper sections being plain or corrugated. Or all four sections may have crossbars to serve as screens. The four end-doors G of the casing are secured by swing bolts, and each door carries a set-screw to adjust and hold in place the sections B. The beater-disc carried by the shaft D comprises a portion J, Fig. 5, keyed to the shaft and having recesses to receive the beaters which are held in place by a piece K screwing on the boss L of the piece J. The beaters may have T-heads and plain or clumpheaded tips.
