Abstract

376,389. Furnace grates. PARKER, A. E., Babcock House, Farringdon Street, London. April 17, 1931, No. 11365. [Class 51 (i).] In a mechanical stoker formed by transverse rows of grate elements some or all of which may be supported on movable bearers and given curvilinear movements, the movable bearers are supported on a rocking frame or frames pivotally mounted about midway of its or their length. In the form of grate shown in the Figure, a fixed frame C<1> carries bearers B<1> and grate bars A while the movable frame C carries bearers B and grate bars A. The frame C is formed about midway of its length with slots D to receive rollers E mounted on a shaft F carried by the frame C<1> and rocking movement is imparted to the frame by eccentrics G on a shaft H.
