Abstract
469,233. Firegrates. PETERSEN, K. Jan. 14, 1937, No. 1177. [Class 51 (i)] An inclined grate has push-bars 7 moving the fuel along the grate surface, these bars being disposed each in a separate tuyere block 5, the block assembly forms the grate and the bars in out-of-use position are sheltered in the blocks and cooled bv the combustion air. The push-bars 7 are operated singly or in groups by arms 9 mounted on shafts 8 and extend through rectangular orifices 6 in the tuyere blocks. The orifices 6 may be encircled by a frame of refractory material and the front part of the push-bars may also be made of refractory material.
