[Class 51 (i)]' A furnace firebar comprises two parts 1, 2 arranged at right or other angle to one another and formed integrally, as shown in Fig. 2, or separately, as shown in Fig. 3, and jointed together, transverse apertures 3 and longitudinal slots 4, Fig. 1, being provided in each part. The bars are provided on the underside with ribs 5 which serve to direct air into the apertures 3 and slots 4. The bars are arranged side by side in the furnace and retained in position by a bolt passing through slots 6 in the ribs 5.
