Spray carburettors.-Fuel from the nozzle 9 is supplied to a primary air passage 8, and the mixture is drawn through gauze or perforated metal cones 12, 22 the apices of which face the fuel nozzle, a large amount of secondary air being admitted through a suction-actuated valve 2 to the chamber 7 between the cones.
