Operating doors by driver by lever, link, and like mechanism; stays.-For operating a door of a road vehicle of the enclosed type, such as an omnibus, having a single door opening inwardly, a handle G<1> positioned near the driver is connected with the door C through a link or links D and a rod F slidable in a slot E<1> of a bracket E, rollers F<3> being mounted on the pivots F<1>, F<2> connecting the members D, F. The handle G<1> is yoke-shaped at G and mounted on its pin F<2> is a disc L that may be moved to hold a locking- pawl K in the inoperative position. Normally, the pawl K is spring-pressed into engagement with a notch E<2> in the slotted bracket E to hold the door in an open, closed, or intermediate position.
