Abstract

332,725. Kilshaw, J. D. July 9, 1929. Doors for passenger vehicles.-In a road vehicle body of the type having two doors 2, 3 on the same side hinged at their remote edges 4, 5 and interconnected for movement in unison, their other edges 8, 9 abutting when closed, the connecting-means comprises linkwork resiliently connected to one of the doors. In one form a slidable link 16 is pivoted at its ends to links 12, 19, the link 12 being hinged to the door 2 and the link 19 pivoted at 18 to a C-shaped spring 22 fixed to the door 3. With closed bodies the links 12, 19 are situated in recesses 13, 20 in the tops of the doors while the link 16 slides in a. recess on the roof cantrail. A single handle 24 actuates means to lock both doors. In a modification a single link may be employed directly connecting the front door and the spring 22.
