Abstract

229,686. Baehr, G. Feb. 22, 1924, [Convention date]. Doors for passenger vehicles.-In open-toclosed road vehicles, a door body which can be applied to various makes of car bodies comprises a frame 1, Fig. 1, having suitable lock and hinge fittings is provided in combination with a group of glass panes 6, 6<1>, preferably two in number, articulated upon pivots 2, 3 made solid with the door frame so as to permit of their being located inside the frame or of taking up a position above it, a flap 12 being provided for closing the concealing recess for the glass panes. The door frame is adapted to be given the form desired by suitable machinery &c. or by the addition of wedges or filling devices. The hinges 24 of the door frame are provided with a bent wing 20 to enable the hinge 24 to be in alignment with the hinge 8 of the glass panes, the other wing 21 being secured to the door frame. The door frame may have an inclined side 17, Fig. 5, with appropriately shaped glass panes to fill in the space between the hood and the body.
