Abstract
391,950. Antidazzle screens for vehicles ; roller blinds. HUMBER, Ltd., Stoke, and BUCKINGHAM, F. J., Haughmond, Stoke Green, both in Coventry. March 1, 1932, No. 6178. [Class 103 (ii).] A sun-shielding or like visor for motor vehicles is adapted to be movable into different adjusted positions inside the vehicle and to be put away into a recess in the roof when out of use. In one form the visor comprises a wooden or metal flap 2, Fig. 2, frictionally pivoted to the inside of the roof, and when out of use locked within a recess 6 by a spring- pressed ball or plunger device 8. Foldable links 10 forming a stiff toggle assist to maintain the panel in operative position. In another form the visor comprises an opaque spring-controlled roller-blind 2, Fig. 4, mounted in a recess in the roof, its free edge being secured to a metal or like strip 11 connected to the roof by toggles 13, 17 and 18, 19 joined by a strip 12 pivoted to the links 13 and having a pin-and-slot connection with the link 19, the blind being held in any position by the friction of the link hinges. There may be two flaps or blinds mounted transversely inside the windscreen.
