212,371. Dunn, J. H., and Phelps, S. H. Feb. 1, 1923. Bowden mechanism.-A direction indicator has two hands 7 for indicating stopping and turning mounted on a common base member. Each hand is operated by a cable 9 attached to a plunger 8 moving in a tube 1 against the action of a spring 21 and carrying a pin 10 which engages at one end in a longitudinal slot 11 in the tube and at the other in a helical slot 12 in the spindle 13 of the hand. The operating levers 30 carry contact pieces 36, Fig. 5, which engage with a member 35 to light the lamp 24 when a hand is moved into operative position.
