209,469. Fletcher, C. Oct. 7, 1922. Air vessels ; valveless pumps.-The plunger b is made hollow to serve as an air vessel. Ports f, e register respectively with inlet and delivery ports c, d at the ends of the suction and delivery stroke. An air vessel d<1> adjoins the delivery pipe d<2>. Several pumps may be arranged in series. According to the Provisional Specification the pump inlei may be controlled by a non-return valve, the cylinder may be made of a larger diameter than the plunger, and the plunger may work in a tubular part extending into the cylinder, the bottom end of the tubular part dipping into the liquid. Or the cylinder may be made with its upper part at right angles to the lower part, the plunger being in the lower part and serving to compress air through the liquid in the lower part of the pump.
