Abstract
631,521. Hydraulic rams; injectors. DICKINSON, R. H. Nov. 5, 1945, No. 29375. [Classes 71 and 102(ii)] In a deep lift pump, a piston 10, Fig. 1, in a cylinder 12 oscillates liquid in hydraulic pressure line 13 extending downwards from the cylinder to a delivery pipe 15 extending upwards from the lower end of the pressure line, the impulses so created drawing liquid to be raised past a non-return valve 18 to the inlet 16 of the delivery pipe. A second valve in the pressure line may prevent back-flow of liquid thereto, make up liquid being supplied by a crossconnection from the delivery pipe uncovered by the piston near the top of its stroke. A tapered outlet on the pressure line 13 may exert an injector action at the lower end of the delivery pipe. The pressure and delivery pipes 33, 34, Fig 5, are concentric and the inlet valve 35 opens into a tapered tube 36 forming an injector with the tapered ends of the pressure and delivery pipes. A valve 38 in the delivery pipe admits make up liquid to the cylinder 12 and a pressure accumulator 39 is provided.
