Abstract

Magnetic instruments.-In a telephone receiver having circular concentric magnetic poles with the energizing winding between them, the permanent magnet C is a bar having a consequent pole in the centre to which is attached the core D. An insulating block E, formed integral with a spool F for the coil G, is mounted on this magnet, and the outer pole H<1> is formed as part of a shield H the ends of which contact with the permanent magnet C. The magnetic structure is fastened together and into the case by screws J, insulated from the case A, the magnet C and the shield H and forming terminal screws for the winding G. Both poles D, H<1> may be split longitudinally to avoid eddy current losses.
