Magnetic instruments.-The permanent magnet b of a telephone receiver is of disc form and has a central hole through which is passed the core or pole-piece c for the bobbin e, the coil having a flange or foot d bearing against the disc. The magnet is secured to the casing by screws j which also act as terminals for the' bobbin wire or by a ring m, Fig. 5, having slots n and inclines o to engage under projections on the casing.
