Abstract

Pole-pieces, cores, and yokes.-A field magnet for dynamos and motors comprises a number of C-shaped elements c each formed of several thicknesses of sheet metal and with magnetizing coils e slipped over the ends and on to the yoke portion. The C-shaped elements are assembled together on a circular housing so that the polepieces of the same polarity are adjacent and form a single pole. The poles are provided with integral pole-tips embracing a substantial percentage of the pole arc. The elements c are positioned within the housing by means of ribs h.
