Abstract

207,215. Foster, C. E. March 29, 1923. Addition to 155,678. Variable-speed gearing comprises a friction disc 5 driving a roller 6 which is moved along its shaft 7 to vary the speed by the power of the engine when the plane of the roller is inclined to a diameter of the disc. Such inclination is effected by a governor upon or connected to the driven shaft, as in the parent Specification, which governor acts either by shifting the shaft 7 or by moving the disc 5.
