[Class 80 (ii)] A second lay shaft c is continuously driven from a lay shaft b provided with a loose wheel r with a splined extension p carrying a wheel o. Low speed is attained when wheels o and q are clutched together, wheel g being moved to engage wheel r. A lower speed is attained by moving wheel o to engage wheel s. Top speed is attained by clutching wheels i, e together, second speed is attained by train i, j, k, e, and third speed by train i, j, m, f.
