Abstract

234,317. Constantinesco, G. Feb. 14, 1924. Addition to 185,022. Variable-speed ratchet gearing rendered automatic by the action of an oscillating mass as described in the parent Specification. The reciprocating movement is derived from a driving rotating mass 160 which may share its function of automatic control of the speed ratio with another mass 164 suspended from a fixed pivot 163. In one form, a pendulum or oscillating pivoted mass is interposed between the centre 161 and the ratchet 40. The driving rotary masses may be upon the casings of engines which casings with the engines may be part of the automatic control.
