Abstract

202,291. Schneider et Cie. Aug. 10, 1922, [Convention date]. Double-beat valves.-The passage of fluid is controlled by a pair of lift valves moving together and arranged in series, so that, when closed, the spaces above the valve seats are not in communication with either the inlet or outlet. The inlet and outlet a<1>, a<5> are connected by a passage a<3>, not in the same line, and the ends of this passage are controlled by valves b<2>. The valves are carried by sliding members B, and the latter by rods b<5> which are pivoted to a cross-bar C. The bar C is rotatably connected to a hand-wheel D. which works on a fixed screwed stud E, so that the two valves are operated simultaneously. Packing b<3> is provided around each spindle, and is engaged by the upper faces of the members B when the valve is open. When the valves are closed, the space above the valves cannot be subject to pressure from the conduits a<1> or a<5>.
