Abstract

201,381. Taylor, V. G. July 11, 1922. Vehicle-window frames; vehicle-window opening and closing apparatus.-In vehicle windows, an endless cable D actuates a slide B mounted, .preferably, in the window guides and connected to the lower edge of the window A so that the window can be laterally displaced from the guide against a resilient pressure tending to draw them into the same plane. The slide is attached to the window by means of two lugs A<3> connected by a bar A<4>, and springs A<6> are mounted on the lug-securing pins A<5>. In its raised position, the window is drawn across the fence rail H by means of a cam G carried by the bar A<4> and located between it and the slide B and the latter is provided with a slot B<3> through which a projection C<3> on the cable extends to operate the slide and engage the cam. The window guides are divided transversely and the upper parts are pivoted so that they can swing with the window as it moves over the rail.
