[Class 80(iii)] [Also in Group X] In a link mechanism for operating the windscreens of motor cars or other hinged windows of the type in which a unilaterally flexible chain 1 and 2 is slidably mounted in a guide rail 4, a separate bearing member 7 for the operating worm 8 is fixed on the guide rail, and the teeth 3 on the chain project through a slot or opening 5 in the guide rail, Fig. 3, 'to engage the worm. As shown, the guide rail encloses the chain and is curved to form the sole means of guiding it to the windscreen or window at the required angle. In a modification, Fig. 15, the chain teeth are formed on the side of the chain by extensions 15 of the pivot pins.
