Abstract

201,195. Morton, B. March 16, 1922. Foundations. - A road foundation or paving comprises a number of reinforced concrete beams b of trapezium shape in cross-section, either precast or cast in situ, and laid with their broad faces resting on a prepared bed a, parallel to one another and at a considerable distance apart. The bed a between the beams b is cambered and concrete d, preferably in the wet state, is laid between the beams flush with the top, or, when an asphalt, tar macadam, or like road surface is provided, to a level slightly below the top of the beams b, to form arches abutting against the beams. Specification 194,347 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 29693/13.
