Abstract

194,347. Morton, B. Oct. 26, 1921. Flooring and paving blocks.-A readily removable road foundation or paving is formed of reinforced concrete beams or long blocks of trapezoidal cross-section, laid on a prepared bed with the broad and narrow faces alternately uppermost. When used as a foundation, a road surface such as asphalt, wood blocks &c. is laid on the top. The blocks may be laid transversely and/or longitudinally of the road, to break joint or otherwise. In the former case, the ends of the blocks are bevelled correspondingly with the sides of the blocks against which they abut. The meeting sides and/or ends of the blocks a are formed with grooves c which register when laid in place with similar grooves on adjacent blocks to form holes into which keys are driven or grouting is run.
