Abstract
239,014. Crowter, G. E., and Hines, J. July 17, 1924. Metal paving blocks. -The cementitious material h, Fig. 4, forming the wearing surface of a road is reinforced with skeleton metal bricks or strutted frames formed of bars d, Fig. 3, of tapered or bevelled cross section. The frames may be provided with projections f for keying to the concrete or other foundation g. Ribs or corrugations may be formed on either or both of the upper and lower surfaces of the frames. Spaced projections e may extend beyond the plane of the bars to form part of the wearing surface. The frames may be of rectangular form, with or without internal bracing as shown in Fig. 6, or angled frames as shown in Fig. 7 may be employed.
