Circular machines.-A machine with coaxial opposed cylinders such as is described in Specification 24290/12 is provided with automatic means for raising the top needle cylinder 2 during rotary-reciprocating motion consisting of a forked cam 10 slidable on a bracket 11 carrying the cylinder 2 and operated from the pattern wheel 13 through links &c. such as 18 - - - 22. The cam 10 supports rollers 14 attached to a coller 14a in which is adjustably mounted a spindle carrying the cylinder 2 which is raised when the inclines 10<a> pass under the roller 14.
