Circular machines.-A cam arrangement for circular machines comprises fixed stitch cams 6, 7, lifting-cams 12, 13, co-operating therewith, and a ring 3 frictionally held by the needle cylinder and adapted to engage with either of the cams 6 or 7. The cams 12, 13 are adjustably mounted to provide passages x, x<1> of the proper width for the needle butts, and are overlapped by the ends of the ring 3, the engaging portions of the cams and ring being bevelled as shown at 15 to prevent jamming of the needles.
