Abstract
146,406. Hemphill Co., (Assignees of Bedard, E.). Aug. 31, 1915, [Convention date]. Circular machines. - For making anti-ravel courses in stocking legs by tucking on alternate needles, long and short latched needles are disposed alternately around the cylinder of a " Banner " or other type, of machine. When the clearing cam is in the low position 7 the latches of the long latched needles b remain below the clearing line x, as shown, and the tuck stitches thus produced on alternate needles constitute an anti-ravel course. When the clearing cam is raised to the position 7x under the influence of a cam 14, the long-latched needles clear and regular knitting is resumed on all the needles.
