455,047. Knitting. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., 1, Balloon Street, Manchester, and HOLT, H., 4, Warren Avenue, Sherwood, Nottingham. March 12, 1935, No. 7650. [Class 74 (ii)] A knitted fabric is produced from at least four independent threads t<1> . . . t<4> which are successively knitted to form four plain, i.e. non-rib webs united back to back by tucking loops with the wales of one face directly opposed to those of the other face, the threads t<1>, t<2> forming stitches on one face of the fabric and the threads t<3>, t<4> forming stitches on the other face. In the fabric shown, each thread forms stitches at alternate wales, the threads t<1>, t<2> forming stitches a, b and tucking loops a<1>, b<1> alternately and the threads t<3>, t<4> forming stitches d, e at alternate stitch wales and floating bars d<1>, e<1> at the retaining alternate wales. In a modification, the tucking loops are formed in alternate courses. The fabric is produced on a rib machine with the needles of one bed operating in radial alignment with those of the other bed and provided with four separate cam tracks.
