Circular machines ; cutting and pile-raising in machines ; knitted fabrics.-The dial needles of a rib machine are replaced by instruments b having plain stems over which pile loops are drawn. The needles a take both main and pile yarns y, x. The pile lcops are severed by the pressure of adjustable spring rollers m. The projecting ends of the instruments b are supported by a roller v. The stationary cam plate k is cut away at various places to accommodate the rollers m, each of which turns on a shaft carried by a spring-pressed adjustable member n slidable in a frame o.
